Since the 20th century, stem cell technology and regenerative medicine have become one of the leading fields in international biomedicine, playing an important role in improving, protecting health, and prolonging human life. Stem cells are multipotent cells that can transform into specialized cell types in the human body, functioning as a repair system, and replacing damaged or dead cells. Therefore, this technology has been and is being applied to treat many dangerous and incurable diseases. In the future, stem cells are also expected to be able to develop into new tissues, used in transplantation and regenerative medicine. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells that can differentiate in vitro and in vivo into adipocytes, chondrocytes, osteoblasts, muscle cells, neurons, liver cells, pancreatic islet cells, and immune regulation, making them attractive tools for cell and gene therapies. Therefore, MSCs are the most widely used cells in regenerative medicine.
