- LENTICULE® (developed by Public Health England, PHE) and Vitroids™ (developed by RTC).
- Vitroids™ and LENTICULE® discs contain live microbial strains with confirmed concentrations (accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025), produced under standardized conditions, and reproducible in compliance with ISO 17034:2016. The reference strains are sourced from microbial resource centers NCTC®, NCPF®, and CECT®.
- The bacterial, yeast, and mold strains are in pure culture form, preserved on a water-soluble solid matrix, with stability for at least one year and in a viable state with a shelf life of 1-3 years.
- High homogeneity and stability.
- Each production batch is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA), showing the average CFU count, expanded uncertainty of the average value, details of the testing method used to determine product data, and the passage generation from the original strain.
- Applications: Daily quality control; Performance testing of media according to ISO 11133; Validation of new methods; Materials for proficiency testing or inter-laboratory comparisons; Method development; Staff training; Use as primary seed cultures.
- Strain origin: NCTC and NCPF (LENTICULE); CECT (Vitroids), all cross-referenced with WDCM numbers.
- Number of generations: 1-2.
- Strain reconstitution: Can be reconstituted directly in solid and liquid media or buffer solution.
- Shelf life: 1-3 years.
- Form of reference strain: Disc form, ready to use.
